Nehemiah and Ezra give us great instruction on how to live life directed by God.
When despised and mocked, boomerang their ridicule on their heads; have their enemies cart them off.
We kept at it because the people had a heart to work.
We countered with prayer and set a round the clock guard against them.
Station armed guards at the most vulnerable spots.
Our enemies know all about out plans, but God frustrates them.
The Holy Spirit stays at my side to sound the alarm.
When you hear the trumpet sound, join together; our God will fight for us.
Each person and his helper is to stay inside Jerusalem.
Each person kept his spear in hand, even when getting water.
We can’t do anything when our fields and vineyards our owned by others.
You are selling your brothers into debt slavery.
I had work to do, We didn”t have time to line our own pockets.
I didn’t use the food allowance provided by the govenor. The people had it hard enough already.
Why would a man like me run for cover. Why would a man like me use the Temple for a hideout?
I put my brother in charge of Jerusalem, because he feared God more than most other men.
Now they got it. The joy of the Lord was their strength.
You are the God who chose Abraham.
You found his heart to be steady and true to you.
You led them by a pillar of cloud and a pillar of fire by night.
You came down to Mount Sinai, you spoke to them out of heaven.
You gave bread from heaven.
You sent water from the rock.
You told to enter and take the land promised.
You are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate.
You didn’t walk off and leave them in the desert.
You give then your good Spirit to teach them to live wisely.
